The below analysis captures English-speaking users worldwide. Social media data sources include X/Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube and Tumblr. Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitch, and Threads were examined manually and informed qualitative analysis.
Insight 1: President Biden’s promise to “restore Roe v. Wade as the law of the land” was the most-talked-about moment of the address.

- When Biden’s promise was discussed, mention volume per minute increased by 29%.
- Audiences had predictably mixed reactions, although Biden’s supporters generally found positive ground with his statement that “those bragging about overturning Roe v. Wade have no clue about the power of women in America.”

Insight 2: Key Congressional influencers focused on reproductive rights when discussing the President’s address.
- Following the 2023 Congressional recess, Rational 360 identified influencers and organizations holding the most influence over Congressional decisionmakers (access report here).
- These online users in the uppermost echelons of federal influence focused on Biden’s rhetoric, analyzing his speech delivery regarding the restoration of “Roe” as well as other critical issues such as Ukraine and immigration.
Insight 3: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-GA-14) outfit was the most-shared fashion moment of the event.
- Among the most viral moments from the address was Biden’s surprised reaction to Rep. Greene’s red-clad outfit, with online users largely approving of the President’s response.
- Greene also donned a shirt that read “Say Her Name Laken Riley,” in recognition of the recent murder victim whose eponymous act recently passed in Congress, and gained further headlines by interrupting the speech by shouting “Say Her Name.”
