Ed Patru is a seasoned communications strategist with experience managing must-win media campaigns at the highest rung of business and politics. In his most recent role as the founder of Direct Communications Company, a strategic communications advisory firm, Patru specialized in narrative development, reputation and issues management, and crisis mitigation for high-profile clients. He also led corporate communications as Executive Vice President of Seekr Technologies, a generative AI startup that was recognized by Fast Company as one of 2024’s Most Innovative Companies.

Prior to launching Direct Communications Company, Patru was Vice President at DCI Group, one of the nation’s largest privately held public affairs firms. During that time, he earned a reputation as a highly effective communications practitioner and a trusted consultant to executive leaders in a variety of sectors including energy, technology, transportation, and education.

Patru is a veteran spokesman who has led communications strategy for several high-profile Republican political campaigns and committees. In 2007, The Washington Post described him as “the message chief for House Republicans” after he successfully overhauled the message and communications strategy for the Iraq War.
