Courtney Laydon

Managing Director   

Courtney brings nearly 25 years of experience at the intersection of public affairs, corporate reputation, advocacy, and journalism. She leads strategic communications campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, NGOs, trade associations and patient advocacy groups across the global healthcare sector.

Throughout her career, Courtney has successfully led bipartisan efforts to shape a positive regulatory environment for patients and key healthcare stakeholders at the state and national levels. She also has extensive experience partnering with pharmaceutical companies on corporate reputation and advocacy campaigns focused on addressing the critical healthcare issues facing communities around the world.  

Prior to joining Rational 360, Courtney served as Executive Vice President and Head of Strategic Communications for Edelman’s Global Practices and Sectors team, where she specialized in healthcare communications with a particular focus on women’s health and mental health. She also worked as a journalist for 12 years—starting her career in Washington, DC as a Capitol Hill reporter before serving as an anchor and executive producer at several television stations around the country. 

She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a specialization in political science from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree from George Washington University’s School of Political Management.
