Rational 360 Senior Vice President, Cassie Scher Named as PRWeek’s 40 Under 40
Award recognizes media expertise amid a fragmented media landscape
NEW YORK, NY – PRWeek has named Cassie Scher in its 40 Under 40 Class of 2025, the annual list recognizing U.S. public relations and communications professionals who are shaping the future of the industry. This dynamic group of leaders redefines the practice of PR and marketing in an era marked by rapid technological, political and cultural change.
As Senior Vice President, Scher leads high-impact strategic communications and earned media campaigns across healthcare, financial services, technology, energy, and transportation. Known for navigating complex policy environments, she develops messaging strategies that resonate with diverse audiences—from policymakers and journalists to the general public. Cassie has guided multiple Fortune 100 companies and major trade associations in communicating complex policy issues to national and conservative media. Through media trainings, she advises CEOs and senior executives on crafting compelling narratives and communicating with impact across diverse platforms and audiences.
“Cassie combines strategic vision with an innate understanding of how to reach and engage audiences across the political spectrum,” said Patrick Dorton, CEO, Rational 360. “Her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with policymakers, media and the public alike makes her an exceptional communicator and leader.”
As a former Republican National Committee staffer, Scher has deep expertise in right-of-center media engagement and strategy, and has built and sustained relationships with national, regional, and issue-specific outlets to advance client narratives in ways that influence the public conversation. She has earned placements across leading conservative, mainstream and trade publications, crafting tailored approaches that authentically connect with audiences on both sides of the aisle.
“It’s an honor to be recognized among so many talented peers shaping the next generation of communications,” said Cassie Scher, senior vice president at Rational 360. “Strategic storytelling has never been more vital — especially in a polarized media landscape. I’m passionate about helping clients bridge divides, engage authentically across audiences, and deliver messages that move policy and public opinion in meaningful ways.”
Before joining Rational 360, Scher served as a vice president at Nahigian Strategies, where she led the launch of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ MyHealthEData initiative. Her background includes extensive work with federal agencies such as HHS, CMS and the U.S. Department of Transportation, as well as close coordination with the White House on national communications rollouts, media tours and press events. She also previously served as an on-the-record spokesperson for a national policy organization and held communications roles at the Republican National Committee and the College Republican National Committee.
Beyond her professional achievements, Scher is deeply engaged in the communications and policy community. She is a member of Washington Women in PR, a past America’s Future Foundation Writing Fellow, has served as volunteer faculty for the Leadership Institute, and is a proud alumna of Zeta Tau Alpha. She holds degrees in history, political science, and education from Arkansas Tech University.
