Since 2020, Rational 360 has more than doubled in size, expanding into new sectors, bringing on incredible talent, and sharpening its edge in public affairs, digital, and strategic communications services. For us, watching the growth of the firm has not only been a rewarding professional experience, but a personal one too.
We both started our careers at Rational 360 five years ago in junior-level positions, working on different teams within the healthcare practice and diving into the world of public affairs, healthcare advocacy, and all the acronyms that come with it.
When we finally got the chance to collaborate on a client together, the rest was history. We both have shared goals of delivering results that move the needle for clients, honing our public affairs and communications skills, and becoming experts in complex business, policy, and public affairs issues.
Over time we became each other’s back stop. Working together to craft the perfect op-ed, brainstorming creative solutions, and developing strategies that bring meaningful change for our clients. Sharing best practices, policy knowledge, and experiences at Rational 360, our friendship quickly became a partnership rooted in trust, respect, and a shared drive to grow.
We had mentors who believed in us, leaders who trusted us, and a culture that celebrates initiative and collaboration. As the months turned into years, Rational 360 kept evolving – and so did we.
We’ve seen the firm take on new challenges, conceptualize and manage campaigns that support clients’ organization-wide objectives, and even saw the firm launch our employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) – giving team members a stake in our success and reinforcing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and shared growth. And through it all, we grew with it. From pitching media stories that landed on national headlines to leading on a growing number of communications strategies for Fortune 100 clients, we’ve been together every step of the way.
Now, as managers who have grown into our roles from intern and associate positions, we are able to pass along the knowledge that we’ve accumulated along the way as we mentor the next generation of interns and fellows walking through our doors just like we did years ago. Our friendship is stronger than ever – not just because of where we started, but because of everything we’ve learned together.
What makes Rational 360 special isn’t just the high-impact work or the upward mobility – it’s the people. It’s the way we support each other, challenge each other, and celebrate each other’s wins. It’s the shared belief that when one of us grows, we all grow. And it’s the kind of place where you can start as colleagues and end up as lifelong friends.
We are grateful to have kick-started our careers in public affairs and communications here at Rational, because it’s not just where we work – it’s where we’ve grown, together.
