Before joining Rational 360, Brian served as the Communications Director for the New Mexico Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. In that role, Brian oversaw outreach and media relations on policies concerning wildfires, flash floods, border security, cybersecurity, and more. As the state’s top emergency management spokesperson, Brian also served as Deputy Director of New Mexico’s Joint Information Center for COVID-19, where he helped coordinate public health and vaccine-related messaging across more than 20 state agencies.
Previously, Brian helped manage the communications strategy for a 2020 Arizona State Senate campaign. And following a 2019 summer fellowship in the Office of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Brian worked as a part-time advisor to the North Dakota Commerce Commissioner, supporting efforts to make higher education more affordable and accessible. Brian began his career as a market research analyst in New York City.
Born and raised in rural Arizona, Brian holds a degree in Economics and History from Tufts University, as well as a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
