Elizabeth Ryba is a Director at Rational 360 and a media and communications strategist who has extensive experience in designing and implementing strategic initiatives with an emphasis on environmental policy, international relations, healthcare, and electoral politics. Her client work has been featured in the Washington Post, USA Today, AP, and the Chicago Tribune, among others.
Ryba possesses a deep understanding of how to navigate politics, having worked in every level of the American political system – from field campaigns to Capitol Hill, to private consulting as a communications strategist and project manager. She worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving first for former Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) then for the late Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL). She has worked on multiple local and national political campaigns, at one point reporting directly to Democratic strategist Paul Tewes.
Before joining Rational 360, Ryba spent two years abroad teaching English and cultural exchange classes in Prague, Czech Republic, and Fuzhou, China. While in Prague she taught at the university level, and in China she taught children and adults and held weekly cultural exchange classes for her colleagues.
A Chicago area native, Ms. Ryba received her Master’s degree in International Relations from Northwestern University. Her final thesis was on the effects of democracy on social development in modern-day Turkey, and the development of a Kurdish state.
