WASHINGTON, DC (March 27, 2018) – Rational 360, a full-service strategic communications and digital agency, today announced the recent addition of five veteran communications and public affairs professionals with deep experience across a range of policy and political issues in both the public and private sectors.

The experience and expertise that Nick, Nisha, Alfredo, Brigid and Drew bring to Rational 360 will be valuable resources for our clients as they work with our firm to design and execute effective public affairs campaigns. ”

Nick Garlow joins Rational 360 as a Director from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), where he worked in a variety of roles over the past six years, most recently as Digital Media Advisor. In that role, Nick managed social media efforts for the Department and two HHS Secretaries, planned and executed events around high-profile health care issues including the Zika virus, and played a critical role in developing and executing strategies to educate Americans about the Affordable Care Act. He also helped HHS successfully build and maintain key relationships with the White House, Congress, and other key external organizations. Nick received his Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in Boston.

Dr. Nisha Cooch is a health care policy and biomedical expert who has led health communications efforts across the public and private sectors – including for Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, universities, and nonprofits – and is joining Rational 360 as a Director. Most recently, Nisha served as an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Executive Branch, where she developed communications strategies and content for congressionally-mandated programs and White House initiatives for spurring innovation in health care. Nisha also previously worked as a neuroscientist at the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Her research has been published in a number of medical journals, including Nature Neuroscience. Nisha received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors from Washington and Lee University and PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Alfredo Ramirez is a digital strategist and email acquisition specialist who joins Rational 360 as a Director of Digital Media. Alfredo previously worked as the Digital Campaigns Manager for the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), where he led an array of digital campaigns for their Latino organizing program that were designed to recruit grassroots supporters, drive public awareness and engagement, and influence public policy decision making. Before joining LCV, Alfredo founded and operated ALRAS Academics, Inc., an online educational services company that provided in-home tutoring to students in South Florida as well as online writing services to clients across the United States. While running the company, Alfredo also helped launch ChangePolitics, an initiative by Change.org during the 2016 election to increase civic engagement and drive voter awareness, particularly around university and college campuses. Alfredo is originally from Venezuela and was raised in Miami. He speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese and graduated with a degree in political science from the University of Florida.

Brigid Hasson joins Rational 360 as a Senior Associate from the Heritage Foundation, where she served in the think tank’s coalition relations department, spearheading efforts to help achieve public policy victories and serving as a liaison to policy organizations, experts, and activists at the state and national levels. Prior to her work with Heritage, Brigid served as the Assistant Director of Development at the Federalist Society. Brigid received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Dallas, where she was a two-time All-American and captain of the varsity women’s soccer team.

Drew Holden joins Rational as a Senior Associate from the office of Rep. Paul A. Gosar (R-AZ), where he served as a legislative assistant covering health care, taxes, financial services and other domestic issues. Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Drew worked at a highly successful hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, in Westport, Connecticut, where he honed his project management skills as a Management Support Associate focusing on internal consulting and business strategy. Drew is a Massachusetts native and received degrees in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Seton Hall University.
