Corporate and Tech PR Veteran to Split Time Between Washington, DC and New York City Offices
Washington, D.C. – July 10, 2013 – Rational 360, an independent, strategic communications and digital agency, announced today that Tricia Primrose, a former Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications at AOL, has joined as partner.
Primrose, a communications veteran with corporate, consumer, brand and crisis experience, will apply her unique expertise to expanding the firm’s work in media, entertainment, technology and other sectors. Primrose will split her professional time between the firm’s Washington, D.C. and New York City offices.
The architect of the communications strategy for AOL’s successful public offering (2009 spin out from Time Warner), Primrose has advised CEOs, developed communications strategies for billions of dollars in domestic and international M&A transactions and has overseen consumer brand communications campaigns, including consumer product rollouts and the introduction of new brands to both consumers and the advertising marketplace. During her career she has also developed and executed communications strategies for public companies faced with challenging business issues, including corporate restructurings, business-model changes, litigation, government investigations, and global downsizing events.
For more than a decade, Rational 360 has specialized in developing and executing strategic communications programs in ever-changing business and regulatory environments. The firm has created multifaceted advocacy campaigns and rapid response operations for Fortune 500 companies, has executed strategic marketing initiatives and digital campaigns for consumer and business-to-business brands, and has worked with public and independent companies on executive positioning and visibility.
“Tricia Primrose has a star combination of consumer, corporate, and public policy experience that is rare in New York and Washington,” said Patrick Dorton, partner and co-founder of Rational 360. “Tricia has done it all in a career that has placed her at the communications forefront of some of the biggest transactions, most complex corporate crises and truly significant consumer cultural movements of the past 20 years.”
“We are excited to welcome Tricia onboard as we expand our capabilities in New York and Washington,” said Don Marshall, partner and co-founder of Rational 360. “Her expertise and knowledge will benefit existing as well as new clients of the firm.”
Prior to leading AOL’s global communications, Primrose was a senior executive in corporate communications at Time Warner. In this role, she leveraged world-class entertainment franchises (Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter films, HBO’s Sopranos and Sex and the City, New Line Cinema’s Lord of the Rings trilogy) to enhance Time Warner’s corporate positioning. Previously, Primrose was an Executive Vice President at Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (RLM), a leading corporate and financial communications firm. Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and EMILY’s List, and served as Communications Director for U.S. Senator Richard Shelby during his first Senate term.
Primrose has a B.A. from Georgetown University and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Phillips Programs, a nonprofit organization serving children with special needs and their families in the Washington metropolitan area.
Primrose joins Rational 360 partners Patrick Dorton, Don Marshall and Brian Kaminski, along with a team of senior communications professionals in Washington, D.C., New York, Los Angeles and Boston.
